New to CHY?

What do I need to do so I can sign up for classes?


A few extra steps ahead of time will help us keep the studio running smoothly when you come to class. 1. Create a profile. Click here to create an account. On the app, click 'My Schedule' and then use the pink 'Register here' button to create an account. 2. Send in your Restriction Exemption Program documentation. In order to practice at the studio you will need to provide:

  • Proof of vaccination
  • Negative COVID test
  • Exemption letter
Please send your documentation to vaccine@calgaryhotyoga.com. Once we receive your information we will reply back to you letting you know you can start to book classes. Further details on the program can be found below.




Can I still make a purchase?


You can still purchase the Intro Pass. The Intro pass activates on the date of your first booking. So you can purchase your pass now while you wait for us to update your account. Single Drop Ins can be purchased once we have updated your account and given you access to book In Studio Classes. Booking Virtual Classes is not affected.




Why can I not book classes?


We are participating in the Restriciton Exemption Program. In order to keep the studio running smoothly, we are asking those attending classes to create an account and provide this information ahead of time. Once that is complete, you will be able to book classes. Further details are located below.

Why am I seeing the 'Disabled' button?


There can be 2 reasons that you are seeing this button: 1. We have not received your documentation for us to comply with the Restriction Exemption Program. In order to practice at the studio you will need to provide one of the following:

  • Proof of vaccination
  • Negative COVID test
  • Exemption letter
More details can be found in the section below. Please send your documentation to vaccine@calgaryhotyoga.com Once we have received your information we will update your account and send you an email back confirming that you can book classes. 2. You need to log in to your account. On the website use the My Account button at the top of the page. On the app, click the 'My Schedule' button at the bottom to be prompted to sign in. If you have completed these 2 steps and are still having trouble, let us know. You can use the chat option here on the website or email craig@calgaryhotyoga.com




I've already sent in my documents. Now what?


Craig is the only one that has access to the emails and he will update your account as soon as possible. If it has been more than a day, please contact the studio by using the chat button here on the website or email at craig@calgaryhotyoga.com




Do I need to show my documentation at the studio?


Currently no. We have set up this system so that the studio can run as smoothly as possible. However, it is recommended to have access to it in case it is requested. With the QR code system launching in a couple weeks, we may be required to scan your code every time at the studio. We will communicate any changes when we know more.

What documentation is required to practice at the studio?


In order to practice at the studio you will need to provide:

  • Proof of vaccination
  • Negative COVID test
  • Exemption letter
As the information is changing rapidly, please refer to the Alberta Government website for information on what is acceptable documentation. Click here to access the Alberta COVID site. The quickest and easiest way to get your vaccination record is on the Alberta COVID-19 Vaccination Record site.




How can I send in my info and book classes?


To help keep the studio running as smoothly as possible, we are requiring your documentation BEFORE you are able to book your In Studio class. Do not arrive at the studio without prebooking as you will be turned away. Some documents on the Alberta COVID-19 website require you to bring the physical document. Please make sure you have them with you. We have created a new email address where you can send your documentation. That email address is vaccine@calgaryhotyoga.com You will only need to send it once (except for the Proof of Negative Test) and we will update your account. Please note that only Craig has access to the CHY email accounts and only he will be updating your account. Once this restriction is lifted, this email account will be deleted along with the information it contains.




Are there any other changes to the studio?


All other requirements including distancing and mask wearing are in effect. Access to our Virtual Class and On Demand videos are uneffected.




I have not sent in my documentation yet.


Your membership will remain active. You can still use it to practice with us using our Virtual Classes or by On Demand Video.




I am unable to provide the documentation to practice in studio.


If you are unable to provide one of the required documents, you can request your membership or pass be put on hold. This hold will remain in effect until the restriction is lifted. At that time, your membership or pass will automatically reactivate.





 

New To Hot Yoga?

What Should I Wear?


Wear clothing that you will not find restrictive. Shorts and tops designed for sport are best. Over time you will find what works best for you.
We are barefoot in the studio, so no need for socks or shoes.




What Should I Bring?


- A large towel (Two if you are planning to shower after class) - Water bottle. Come hydrated to class - Yoga mat You can rent these items for $2 each if your have forgotten something. We encourage everyone to have their own yoga mats and towels. If you are not sure what to buy to were to get these items, ask us!




What Classes are Best for New Comers?


If you are nervous about your first class, we have all been there! There are a few classes we recommend to get started with your yoga practice. 26&2 and Strength in Movement are excellent classes for you to get used to the postures and heat of the room. Pure Yin is also great if you are looking for a cooler class and want to start moving your body. You can read full descriptions of these classes on our Class Types Page.
Remember, everyone in the room has had that ‘first class’ experience, so we know what it is like! Your body will get used to the heat and humidity over time.




Is There a Pricing Option for New Comers?


Yes! We have the Intro Pass. This gives you a great opportunity to check us out, try a few classes led by different instructors and see if hot yoga and Calgary Hot Yoga are right for you.
This pass is only available to those who are brand new to Calgary Hot Yoga and have never purchased a pass before. Find out all the details on our Intro Pass and purchase yours on our Pricing Page.




When Should I Arrive for Class?


Our studio opens 15 minutes before class. Please arrive early to allow yourselve time to set up to have an amazing first class. We aim to start class on time, and it helps us out if our students arrive with time to spare.
The studio is locked when class starts so unfortunately we can not admit late comers.




Is Hot Yoga for Everyone?


Due to the high heat and humidity, Hot Yoga is not recommend if: - you are pregnant. - you have any kind of medical conditions, like high blood pressure. As always, it is very important to speak to your physician prior to undertaking a new exercise program to make sure you do not have any underlying medical reasons that would restrict you from taking part in a heated class.

How Do I...

Stop My Auto Renew


  • You can stop your Auto Renew at any time, there is no minimum commitment.
  • Your membership will remain active until your next payment date.
To stop your membership:
  1. Log in to your account on our website (mobile or desktop version). You can not make this change on our app at this time.
  2. Click on My Profile. (On the mobile version, click on the menu button on top right to find the link).
  3. Click on Passes and Memberships.
  4. On your Auto Renew membership, uncheck the Auto-Renew box. That's it!
  5. Note the date under the word Expires. You will still have access to our classes and videos until that date.

Cancel an Upcoming Class on the CHY App


1. Open the app and click on the My Schedule button. If you are not logged in, you will be asked to do so. 2. You will see a list of your upcoming classes. Swipe left or click the 3-dot menu button to see the Cancel button. 3. Click cancel and that's it! Note: Cancelling your visit after cut off will result in a penalty. Please refer to you Booking or Reminder emails for confirmation of when that time is for your class.




Cancel an Upcoming Class on the Website


If your web browser keeps you logged in to our site, you may see a Cancel button instead of the Book Now button on our schedule. You can use that cancel button to easily cancel your visits. If you do not see the option to cancel, follow these steps:

  1. Click on My Account (located at the top of the screen) and login.
  2. Click on My Schedule.
  3. You'll see a list of your upcoming bookings.
  4. Click the three dots in the Action column for the class you wish to cancel.
  5. Click the Cancel button.
Note: Cancelling after the cancellation cut off time will result in a penalty being charged to your account.




Update My Credit Card on the Website


  • Currently you can only add a credit card. We are waiting on a software update to give you the ability to delete or update a card already on file.
  • If you need to update a credit card expiry, simply add a new card using the instructions below and let us know to delete the expired one.
  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click on Profile (in the very top menu bar)
  3. Click on Billing (in the blue menu bar)
  4. Scroll to the third secion down labeled Saved Credit Cards.
  5. Use the Add a Credit Card button to add new payment details.
  6. Click Save.




Update My Credit Card on the App


  • Currently you can only add a credit card. We are waiting on a software update to give you the ability to delete or update a card already on file.
  • If you need to update a credit card expiry, simply add a new card using the instructions below and let us know to delete the expired one.
  1. Open the CHY app and click the circle in the top right of the screen. This is your profile * The circle may have your photo, if you have added one, or your initials. * If you do not see the circle, you may not be logged in. Click on My Schedule and you will be prompted to sign in.
  2. Click Billing Information (second column, second option down)
  3. The third section down will say Credit Cards.
  4. Use the Add Credit Card button to add a new card to your account.
  5. Click Save.
