An important part of our yoga practice is the second set of a posture. The first set allows us to mentally go through the steps of the posture. The second set is for putting those steps together, the mind and body are already connected.

Think of the first set as getting to the posture, connecting the mind and body.

Then the second set is actually doing the posture from the beginning.

In this 60 min unsequenced class, you will do postures that you are familiar with, adding in some new ones, doing poses twice, in a new order.

Over time your experience in this class will broaden your yoga practice as we add in postures we haven't been able to practice before, in a way that gives you time to connect body and mind. We know you are gonna love this addition to your practice!

26&2

Come experience our updated 26&2 Practice!

This class is the best example of the tension and release aspect of a Ghosh yoga practice. Move into the posture, be still in the posture, release the posture, all while maintaining mindfulness and breath. No easy feat!

In our busy, quick paced world, the effort of holding in stillness can be very challenging. Learning to work in stillness can be the most rewarding. In a word we are creating discipline through this practice.

Why is it called 26&2? This class is made up of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises.

Strength in Movement

Class Temperature

Hot Class - 40C

In this practice we will take the major joints and muscles through their normal range of motion. When the body is functioning properly, these movements can feel simple. The challenge is when there is injury, disease or imbalance in the body:

  • Scar tissue from past injuries can impede body movements

  • Repetition of everyday life can prevent us from functioning fully

The movements in this class are intended as simple remedies for the wear and tear of the body. They will help with common pain, weakness and tightness.

During class we will be moving in postures. This is different from a Flow class where we would move from one posture to the next. Rather than holding a posture in stillness, we will create movement in the posture to move joints, strengthen muscles and create space. Many of these postures will be familiar to you from other classes, just practiced in a new way.

Ghosh Flow

Hot Class - 40C

Ghosh Yoga comes with it’s own tradition of flows or Salutes. We honour that tradition by practicing them in our Ghosh Flow. The Salutes are made up of the Moon Salute, Sun Salute and Gods and Goddesses. Ghosh Flow classes will always have a combination of these powerful, energizing Salutes to warm the body and move the energy.

Pure Yin

Class Temperature

Cool Class - 24C

We are used to working the muscles of the body, but there is so much more to flexibility and health! The Pure Yin classes will begin to work the connective tissues in the body that need to be exercised in a different way. Yin classes are room temperature and not sequenced. 95% of Yin poses are floor poses and we generally hold each pose anywhere from 1 minute to 5 minutes or more! A great class to calm the body, work with the breath and prepare for meditation.

26 Expanded

Skill Level

Intemediate

Class Temperature

Hot Class - 40C

The 26 Expanded class, sometimes called the Intermediate class, is the bridge between the 26&2 and The 84 Full Series. In this practice we draw on the discipline, build the strength we have, and begin to put the pieces together to practice The 84 Full Series.  The Expanded class is where we create the ‘next step’ the 26&2 postures and begin to experience why we practice those postures in such a precise way.

You will need to have practiced a minimum of three 26&2 classes in order to book this class.

84 Full Series

Skill Level

Advanced

Class Temperature

Warm Class - 32C

In The 84 Full Series, sometimes referred to as the Advanced class, we practice the complete series. This practice takes a minimum of 2 hours to complete and we  will draw on the discipline we  have created. The 84 is best described as requiring an advanced mindset and willingness to try rather than needing an advanced physical practice. If you are familiar with the 26&2 postures, you are absolutely ready for The 84 Full Series. If you are still getting acquainted with the 26&2, take your time to develop discipline and get to know those postures in your tissues.

You will need to have practiced a minimum of one 26 Expanded classes in order to book this class.
