CLASS DESCRIPTIONS: All classes are heated to a hot 102 - 105 degrees. MOST CLASSES ARE 90mins as that is the optimum time needed to strengthen, open, flush, cleans and heal the body. We offer a few shorter classes, for quick tune-up's in-between or when time is short but the body needs a quick yoga class!
Standard Hot (SH): These sets of postures are designed to address every muscle, organ and joint in the body. The postures work synergistically and cumulatively to warm up the muscles and joints for the next posture—at the same time systematically working the entire body including the digestive, respiratory, circulatory, immune, endocrine, lymphatic, skeletal, muscular and nervous systems. Thus, returning the body into balance and optimum health. A challenging class yet great for first timers and long time yoga enthusiasts alike.
Vinyasa Flow (VF): This is a dynamic and energizing practice. Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” The poses are designed to work internal organs, muscles and joints and increase physical strength, stamina and flexibility. The focus on breath and movement develops concentration and patience......helps clear the mind and ground the body. We create synergy and energy as a group as we learn to flow thru this challenging class one movement to the next with strength, ease and breath! All levels welcome. If you are new to yoga….rest as much as needed, and soon you’ll master the full class.
Hot60 A one hour dynamic class. The class has similar postures as a SH class creating the same healing benefits but the sequencing is a little different. The movement between standing poses is more fluid and connected and the dynamic floor sequence keeps the energy strong for the entire 60 min class. The perfect combination to strengthen the body and calm the mind!
VF-2 This is not an advanced class but rather a class designed to provide the opportunity to challenge yourself and learn next steps in the practice. We describe how to move to those next steps in some of the postures and detail the proper techniques that will assist you to take the step once the body (and mind!) is ready. We also explore a few new postures. VF-2 is conducted with strong sequencing and a consistent flow. This class is acceptable for all levels, but we ask those attending to be familiar with the VF sequence and have acclimated to the heat to be able to stay in the room for the full class to keep the energy strong (resting anytime as needed is perfectly fine as always)!
Standard Hot 1.5 (SH 1.5) Most of the same poses in the standard hot 90 minute class but designed for those who have attended at least 10 SH classes so know the poses well enough to be able to stay together as a group. The standing series unfolds in a slightly different sequence, with a bit more flow. For some of the postures we describe the next steps in the pose (for you when you are ready). The floor series is a little more dynamic moving between poses without always using the traditional savasana resting pose in between.
